Whether you want to see it or not, the first thing that everyone sees when they stop at the boulevard, is the huge cathedral (I know that there are others bigger than this one, but since Palma is not so big as other cities....) and the La Almudaina Palace.
In 1229, James I, the Conqueror was sailing to Mallorca when he was surprised by a tempest. The king then promissed if the expedition reached the destiny he built a cathedral in honour of the Virgin Mary. The work begun on the year of 1230 on the site of a former mosque and it only end on the 17th century.
After we payed the entrance fee (€ 3,50 each) we saw some guards saying that we couldn't take any pictures in the church, but when we enter the cathedral we saw an huge number of persons taking pictures with or without flash, so I take a few that I put in a travelogue...
The construction of this castle begun in 1300 and finished 11 years latter. The castle is formed by a central courtyard around which are galleries, main buildings and moats... Bellver Castle was the summer residence of the kings of Mallorca and finished as a prison for monarchs, soldiers and also for the writer Gaspar de Jovellanos.
Directions: Some three km from the centre of the city of Palma at some 112.60 metres above sea level.

This coves are in fact 4: the Cave of the French, the Cave of Luis Salvador, the Withe Cave and the Black Cave, their total lenght is almost 2 km... At the end of this caves we found the Lake Martel , with 177 metres in length, where we can attend to a concert...
Although they didn't allow us to take pictures inside I use my digital cam (not using the flash) to take some pictures, you can see them at the travelogue)

Me at Porto Cristo's harbour
Porto Cristo was formely known as Cala de Manacor, and received the actual name in 1912 in commemoration of an old tradition according to which an image of Christ was landed at the cove in 1260.
Near Porto Cristo we can find the Caves of El Drac and the Coves of Els Hams.
