Darling Harbour: Peaceful Darling Harbour
  • Tip Rating:
  • Darling Harbour is located at the north-west of Sydney. The Pyrmont Bridge laid across the harbour and the Monorail is just over the Bridge. i particularly like walking across this bridge and take a breezy breath. Also, the Monorail and Light Rail provides an easy access to attractions at the Darling Harbour side.

Churches / Cathedrals: St. Mary's Cathedral
  • Tip Rating:
  • St. Mary's Cathedral is one of the notable and historic Sydney churches, a Sydney landmark and also the mother church of Australian Catholicism.
An imposing stone structure of decorated geometrical Gothic design, with twin towers above its main southern entrance, rises along the northeastern side of Hyde Park in the heart of Sydney. St Mary's Cathedral, whose foundation stone was laid by Archbishop Bede Polding in 1868, rises from the site of the first Sydney cathedral built earlier in the century but which had gone up in flames in 1865.

AMP Building / Centre Point: Sydney Tower
  • Tip Rating:
  • The Sydney Tower is ranked as one of the safest buildings in the world. The design has made the tower capable of withstanding earthquakes and extreme wind conditions. 56 cables stabilise the tower, and if the strands of these cables were laid end to end, they would reach from Sydney to Alice Springs, or from Sydney to New Zealand

Shanice, My trips to Sydney while the signature Opera House was still under construction. Australia's schoolkids' nickels & dimes help finish it. Very nice update on a favorite town. Doug
