check-in and check-out experiences were both speedy, pleasant and met with friendly service. spa/massage service is highly recommended. staff was friendly and massage was heavenly.
Unique Qualities: room was nicer than i expected. the colors were neutral, earth tones; the bathroom was fabulous -- the mirror never fogged and the bathtub was deep with armrests (one of the best bathtubs i've ever bathe in).

if you're on a budget, sure stay at the sahara. but it's far from where the action is (so, unless you're up for a trek, you will end up paying for a cab or catching the local bus to get to the strip). it claims to be on the strip but it's the second to the last hotel on the strip. it's an older hotel/casino, so the rooms are not the best. there's also an odor that comes with the room -- nothing too unpleasant but distinct and common with older hotels.
Unique Qualities: great for those on a budget, but for the same price one could stay at the imperial palace, which is right on the strip...

stayed here for new year's eve weekend one year. it was a last minute road trip we took from los angeles, so most of the hotels were booked and prices of those with vacancies were astronomical. we didn't expect much from imperial palace, but for the location and price, it makes for a great bargain. service was friendly, helpful. room was well maintained/clean.
Unique Qualities: location, location, location -- right in the middle of the strip, walking distance to just about all the more popular resorts (i.e. bellagio, venetian, caesar's palace, paris, etc.)

rooms are ample in space and more than nice accomodations. stayed here for a friend's bachelorette party. poolside -- awesome.
Unique Qualities: home of the ghostbar and rain ... both places a must visit while in vegas!
