Our ongoing tour of Hawai‘i started early morning in February 2006; a puddle jumper flight from Honolulu on Oahu Island to Hilo on Hawai‘i Island (known as the Big Island.) Of our entire time through the Hawaiian Islands, Big Island would eventually prove to be our favorite island, hands down. The diversity, history, extreme climate changes, and the overall atmosphere of Big Island created a 24/7 smile.
It was difficult to keep up with the beauty that surrounded us. Photo taking began before we even landed, and continued even after we departed. That's the kind of place Big Island is...you just can't put your camera down. We circled the entire island throughout our stay. Prepare to join us after the fact on a journey that takes you from the jungle of the east side, to the volcano, to the party scenes in Kona, to the history of Hawai‘i's earlier kingdom, down to that perfect sunset. |
