Gozo is the second largest island of the Republic of Malta. It’s situated northwest of the island Malta and is 15 km long and 7 km wide. It only can be reached by ferryboat or by helicopter. The surface of Gozo is saving the rainwater and this makes the island very fertile. Especially in spring, Gozo must look much greener than Malta. All kind of vegetables grows on Gozo, and we were told that they even export vegetables like potatoes. We did a guided excursion to Gozo as we found that easier. There are also buses on Gozo (that are red and grey unlike the yellow ones on Malta), but we didn’t see much of them. I guess the best would be to go there by car. More information about Gozo can be found at www.gozo.gov.mt. |
