Surfing

The beach at Prassonissi in the south of Rhodes seems to be a good place for surfers. It's windy there and you can choose between the wavy Agean Sea or the calm Mediteranean Sea. We've seen lots of surfers at the Mediteranean, and there also were some kite-surfers on the Agean Sea.

Directions: In the extreme south of Rhodes.

Snorkeling

If you want to snorkel, the area around the Kalithea spa is perfect for you! At the spa itself, there is a rocky beach with few sand, and you even can borrow snorkel. Close to it, there are some more rocky beaches. From the parking, you already see one, and the one of the photo is found a bit more south, behind a pine forest.

The water is absolutely clear, the rocks in the water are very interesting and there are several fishes, of course. Most mussels we saw were "inhabited" by kind of crabs - looks very funny when suddenly some legs come out of mussel and it is walking away!

Directions: East coast, 8 km south of Rhodos Town.
