You think Bouillon is a soup? You are right, but Bouillon is also a very nice village in the Ardennes. It is situated in the south of Belgium, close to the French border.
The village lies very picturesque in the valley of the river Semois. In the loop of the Semois, you'll find the "Chateau Fort", the fantastic medieval castle. From there and from other parts of the village, you have nice views over the valley. There are several walking paths along the river or in the forests at the hills and I would have loved to stay there longer!
- Pros:Great castle, beautiful surrounding, lots of restaurants
- In a nutshell:absolutly mandatory for a sightseeing tour through the Ardennes

Hi Angela. Yes, I did think it was a soup, but I see it's a soup with a nice castle and even a "ballet de rapaces".
Someone's calling this place a village :-) It's a lovely little town and a very imposing fortress!
Interesting tips on another pretty Belgium village.
I would love to see the falconry show.
Gorgeous photo... I know where you stood to take it because I drove the wrong way down this road...obviously it was my co-drivers fault!!!!! oops!
Well done Himalia11! My 1st visit to the Castle of Bouillon was a long time ago (almost 31 years, to be precise ...)
WOW!!! Looks lovely with all the greenery around the castle and the views are amazing!!! I love seeing castles!!!
