"One week in Sassnitz" Saßnitz by himalia11

Saßnitz Travel Guide: 20 reviews and 70 photos

Sassnitz is a town in the north east of the island Rügen, at the border of the Jasmund National Park with its chalk cliffs. It has a small but nice old town, with lovely houses typical for such seaside resorts. Sassnitz is a touristic town with many hotels and appartment houses and some museums (like the harbour museum and a submarine museum), but it wasn't as busy as I expected - in contrast to Binz which was pretty crowded already in May. Still there are many things you already can do in Sassnitz or nearby like hiking along the chalk coast to the highest cliffs called "Königsstuhl". We definitly enjoyed our one week of vacation there - although it was pretty cold for May!

Another outstanding page of your latest adventures on Rügen. Very helpful practical tips here; I especially like your accomodation tip.

Hi Angela, you found a nice place to go for your holiday in May. If I were a chicken I don't think I would want people to put stones in my nest, even if they were special "chicken god" stones.
