We found Rochefort to be an optimal starting point for our excursions in the Ardennes - for instance to
Dinant,
Bouillon,
La-Roche-en-Ardenne or to the caves of
Hotton. But of course, Rochefort itself also has several attractions:
- The ruins of the castle of the Counts
- The cave of Lorette
- The tourist train which takes you on a city tour
- Park des Roches, with minigolf & open air swimming pool, playground etc.
- The Ravel, a former railway line between Rochefort and Houyet which has
been converted to a path for walking and cycling
- The cave of Han, Wildlife Resort, Museum of the underground world (in
Han
sur Lesse)
- The Gallo-Roman Archaepark of Malagne (in Jemelle)
- Feudal castle and museum (in Lavaux-Ste-Anne)
For more information on Rochefort, visit the homepage of
Rochefort or better the one of the
Lesse valley, where you can download several tourist publications.
