This historic city at the river Nore is situated in the south-east of Ireland. It’s also the capital of County Kilkenny. We’ve spent only one night at Kilkenny and tried to see at least a bit of the city. We found it quite busy with lots of traffic in the small streets of the centre, a pedestrian area would have been nice! Fortunately we had a B&B from which we could walk to the centre in 20-30 minutes, so we hadn't to drive through the city. It’s easy to explore the city by feet, the interesting sights like the castle, the St Marys Cathedral and the St Canices Cathedral are close together. And as there are street maps at several places, you won’t get lost! If you are looking for more information on Kilkenny, go to www.kilkenny.ie. |
