"With a boat to Saverne" Saverne by himalia11

Saverne Travel Guide: 16 reviews and 30 photos

Saverne is a lovely city in the northern part of the Alsace. The old town has some beautiful old houses, there's a palace and on a mountain in the near some nice castle ruins. The Rhine-Marne-Canal goes through Saverne, and you can watch the boats there or you also can rent a houseboat at the marina. If you prefer to ride by bike, you can go along the canal, there's almost always a path next to it.
We've rented a houseboat somewhere else, in Mittersheim, and went to Saverne. I really can recommend this! There are some other interesting sights near Saverne, like the boat lift next to Arzviller, and two tunnels. More on my Lorraine page!

There's a tourist website at www.ot-saverne.fr. A good city map can be found at the official webpage of Saverne, www.mairie-saverne.fr.
