"Saint John: The FUN-dy City" Saint John by Kushelkitten
Saint John Travel Guide: 125 reviews and 261 photos
Years ago when I did Reservations for Air Canada a traveler was booking a trip to Saint. John. While doing so she was telling me about the tides in the Bay of Fundy which was her reason of going to the "Fundy City". (More on this in the next chapter)
As we drove into Saint. John we didn't quite know what to expect but where greeted with fog, a great wall of it coming in off the Atlantic. From the three days we spent in town it seems as though the mornings until about noon are always densly foggy. Dont let that deter you from visiting this interesting city.
In case you dont know the flow of the Saint John River combined with the incoming tide of the Atlantic makes for spectacular show and forces the Saint John River to actually flow backwards for a time. You just can't stay for either low or high but should stay for both to truely appreciate this natural phenomenon.
It was something to see how the boats which were street level were suddenly low and dry and the whole process in reverse.

- Pros:Lots to see and do
- Cons:Foggy a lot of the time

The forces of the tide are indeed something amazing to be seen in this part of the world. You are correct about the fog arising from the very cold Bay of Fundy waters, it often takes until about noon for the sun to burn it off!
I've never been to St. John, but I live near where St. John was born. LOL
