Introduction | Lima downtown - Plaza Mayor |
With over 8 million inhabitants and increasing every day, Lima is one of the biggest cities in the world. This is a city of contrasts where the poorest people live in small self-made houses in the hills with no water or electricity while you can expect to pay 50 soles for one hour of bowling in Larcomar. In some parts of the city the houses looks almost like ruins, while in other parts the architecture is great. Even though the pollution is high, the traffic noisy and many people are poor, my experience is that the inhabitants of Lima often are very sympathic, friendly, serviceminded and more than willing to help tourists. I always love returning to Lima. |
