I first came here in 85 with the Royal Air Force, for a week we trained on the Mirage3 aircraft with some fantastic french groundcrew. The film Life of Brian had just became popular there and as I seem to know all the words and have a knack of doing funny voices,my impression of Brians mum went down very well.Ed 'The Shed',Jock Gill,Max Lewis and Nige Wright were my partners in crime there. The weather certainly helped with everyones mood, not forgetting the copious amounts of beer that was flowing, well it would've been rude to say no !!! We were doing our bit for Anglo/French relations.Max and I went on to Paris by train at the end of the week, met up with Terry Ackerman and his wife Valerie, who was from Paris so she was a great help, our very own 'guide'.It rained from the moment we got there for 5 long days, but we still managed to have a good time.....well you do don't you.More of Paris later. |
