  • The mirror labyrinth is situated in a building originally constructed by the Czech Tourist Board. It has a lovely entrance in the style of a Medieval Gate with a drawbridge. The labyrinth is a fascination for young and old. Be prepared for a laugh.
There was also an exhibition of children?s drawings when we were there.
It is next to The Petrin Tower

  • The Metronome overlooks the Vltava River and city centre. The structure was erected to replace the Stalin Monument which had stood since the early 1950's. The Stalin monument was supposed to be a lasting tribute to the great Communist leader but in 1962 the monument was blown up leaving only the large base.
It is now just a picnic area and meeting place for young people.

  • Petrin Hill is a favourite place to walk amongst the inhabitants of Prague and tourists alike. There was a church here as early as the Middle Ages.
The Funicular that runs alongside the hill was constructed for the Jubilee Exhibition in 1891. The service for passengers runs several times a day.
There is a small basic cafe both inside the tower and also outside.

Good work here:useful tips, beautiful pics, a bit humour... Never been in Praha! Next year perhaps. The art Deco interest me on first degree. Thanks

I totally agree about Cafe Lamberty. It is a rip-off. Food is advertised at cheap prices to get you in then their beer is three times the cost of elsewhere. Coffee costs 89KC (about £3). When cover charge is also added the place is very expensive. AVOID

Ersh... I bought a hot dog from that exact stand you show in your Wenceslas Square photo. It gave me 24-hours of the most brutal heartburn (the only time I didn't feel well during my 10 day trip). You're right--they're s**t!

A comprehensive group of pages about Prague. Interesting array of hotels and restaurants. The Jewish area was especially poignant. Thanks for this great tour of a truly beautiful city.
