| Third visit to Prague ...and it snowed !! |
Prague is affectionately known as the Pearl of Europe for it's beauty. The Czech name is Praha and since the fall of the Iron curtain the ciity is invaded by thousands of tourists. I am sure like myself they wil not leave disappointed. It is a mix of old and new and the two work well together. In my opinion if you are travelling to Praue for the first time try and go in December when there are the Christmas markets. You might be lucky enough to have snow like we did. I have just returned from my third visit and can't wait to go back |
| Man on Upside down horse!!! |
| | Weird??? We never did find out what this was but it it fascinated us enough to capture it on film. It can be found in an arcade of Stepanska which is a road leading off Wenceslas Square. |
| | The talked about clock This clock has to be seen! Everybody gathers round it on the hour and waits for something spectacular to happen and...nothing does. All that happens is something pops out of a door and goes back in again, blink and you miss it. Then the waiting audience claps!! Very strange but we all have to do it and we even went back again on our second visit to see it again. Climb the clock tower for an amazing view of the city.* |

wandeljp Thu May 14, 2009 18:24 UTC Good work here:useful tips, beautiful pics, a bit humour... Never been in Praha! Next year perhaps. The art Deco interest me on first degree. Thanks | davn99 Sun Nov 2, 2008 16:48 UTC I totally agree about Cafe Lamberty. It is a rip-off. Food is advertised at cheap prices to get you in then their beer is three times the cost of elsewhere. Coffee costs 89KC (about £3). When cover charge is also added the place is very expensive. AVOID | Kaspian Fri Aug 1, 2008 17:24 UTC Ersh... I bought a hot dog from that exact stand you show in your Wenceslas Square photo. It gave me 24-hours of the most brutal heartburn (the only time I didn't feel well during my 10 day trip). You're right--they're s**t! | deecat Thu Jun 26, 2008 13:46 UTC A comprehensive group of pages about Prague. Interesting array of hotels and restaurants. The Jewish area was especially poignant. Thanks for this great tour of a truly beautiful city. |
