Restaurant Name: Texas Embassy
Great atmosphere. A good selection of cocktails which you can have before being seated which is ideal when it is busy. The portion sizes are American so beware! Never made it to the dessert yet!! Waiting staff are very helpful and friendly. Can be very busy so be prepared to wait on occasions.
Favorite Dish: The fajitas are lovely and you get all the side dishes you need to make a really god fajitas. Check out their web site for the full menu.

The Ritz Hotel (Palm Court): Afternoon Tea

Restaurant Name: The Ritz Hotel (Palm Court)
Enjoy a British tradition and treat yourself to tea at The Ritz. There are 3 sittings that can be reserved; 1.30pm, 3.30pm or 5.30pm. During the week a pianist plays and at weekends a harpist. They serve lovely finger sandwiches consisiting of smoked salmon, poached salmon, turkey, egg and cress and salt beef. These are followed by the most delicious cakes, scones with clotted cream and jam and pastries. Various teas or coffee. the cost might seem high at ?32 per person but considering your plate is refilled when it looks empty it is in fact good value. Jeans are not permitted and men must wear collar and tie. The atmosphere is one of decadence and should be enjoyed at least once in ones life.

OX Tower Braserie: Fantastic Views

Restaurant Name: OX Tower Braserie
I was lucky enough to have an all expenses paid trip to London with a colleague. We had to meet and entertain two people from Mexico and we were free to take them anywhere, but, at short notice it proved difficult. I chose the Brasserie at the Oxo Tower and they loved it. We were lucky enough to get a table on the terrace and the views over the Thames were beautifiul. The food was excellent but I have to say the service was very slow. The place was packed with diners and when we left at 12.30am people were still eating! I would certianly come here again although it was very expensive. Thank goodness I wasn't paying!
Favorite Dish: We shared starters of Osso Bucco and grilled sardines and there was plenty for the four of us. I then had the lamb with aubergines and courgettes in a pesto sauce which was excellent. I managed to squeeze in an Ameretto pana cota with roasted apricots. I thought Iwas in pudding heaven mmmm

Restaurant Name: HAZ restaurant
This large and well lit restaurant is only a few minutes from Liverpool Street Station. If you want a romantic dinner by candlelight then this place is not for you. It does however offer excellent Turkish cuisine and the prices are really good. There re a couple of set menus and A la carte is also available. Ther service is second to none. All the staff are very attentive from the second you walk in.
Favorite Dish: I had the humous to start and then I had Iskender which is amixed grill with yoghurt.

Restaurant Name: Hamburger Union
We don't normally do hamburger places but I was in need of the loo and this was the nearest place!! It was clean and service excellent. Well priced and perfect for lunch. The burgers tasted of meat and not gristle which makes a change. The best Greek salad I have ever had too!! £19 for two including drinks
Favorite Dish: I had the greek salad and Chris the burger and chips. Chunky chips too!!! The salad was really fresh and excellent.

Lee Ho Fook: The newspaper review was right!!

Restaurant Name: Lee Ho Fook
There are plenty of chinese restaurants in and around Gerrard Street and we took ages to make our minds up as to which one to choose. There was a newspaper advert in the window of this one and we decided to give it a try. No table clothes and basic decor abound. It was excellent. Good food and a good price too.
Favorite Dish: We started with vegetable spring rolls and crispy aromatic duck followed by Crisp Pork and three meats and noodles. The bill for the two of us came to £23.10 including drinks. Very good I think for central London
