Belem's natural harbour made it the starting point for many voyages of exploration. Full of history Belem is easily reached by tram and train from the hustle and bustle of Lisbon. There is so much to see and do here so allow plenty of time. There is the monastry, the museum, the famous custard tart shop, etc. A great day out from Lisbon. |

A very nice page on the sights you took in while touring Belém! I didn't see that model of the Tower of Belém when I visited in 2004. Good idea to have lots of time there - I did not and missed some key things! |
