Busy and full of character | Girls just want to have fun |
When I visited Madrid in March 2004 it was only a couple of days after the bombing of the Atocha Station and our visit was tinged with great saddness.
We did however pack as much into our visit as possible.
We stayed in the centre of the city near the Puerta del Sol and this was a good choice.
There are many great museums, a market that seems to go on forever lovely parks and a transport system that is very good and fairly cheap too.
January 2005 and just back from this wonderful city and I liked it better this time. Saw more and even managed to take in a couple of museums too.
Madrid is a contender for the 2012 Olympics and there is advertising everywhere. I wish them well in their bid
