What goes up DOES come down.
Take a trip up the Wilder Kaiser on the funicular railway. At the top there is now a panoramic restaurant which they were buiding when I was here in June 2005.
The view from the top are fantastic and there are lots of marked paths for hikers.

view from half way up mountain
Not a big deal to a lot of people but for me it took a lot of courage. Yes I did it. I went up a mountain in a chair lift. The view was spectacular and I was like a kid with new toy and didn't hide my feelings as to the enjoyment and sheer relief that I had managed to do it!
All over Austria they can be seen and are safe and reliable.
