On the slopes between the Rhine plains and the Black Forest sits a beautiful Spa town which is steeped in history and offers its visitors amazing hospitality. Baden-Baden has a long tradition of treating its guests like royalty. The art of being pampered here dates back to Roman times. Even Europe's first luxury hotel was etablished on the banks of the river Oos. Nowadays thankfully there are hotels to suit all budgets. Baden-Baden is also famous for its magnificent casino. Form morning until night there is always something on offer here. Good theatre, spas, historic relics like the Roman Baths and also the beautiful gardens in the centre of the town. Good restaurants are plentiful here too. The well kept pedestrian area of the town is a great place to wander around and take a drink in one of the cafes. |

starship Sun Jun 28, 2009 04:01 UTC Very nice page! Baden-Baden looks like a lovely place to visit. I could certainly use some pampering but would stick to the spa that allowed bathing suits at least!LOL!! | toonsarah Sun Feb 22, 2009 11:51 UTC Lovely to see what I missed in not making it here last year ;-) I think I would share your prudishness about the Friedrichsbad though! | scottishvisitor Wed Dec 10, 2008 17:00 UTC A very nice place to relax and be pampered in the spa but I too wouldn't want to visit the nude one! | HORSCHECK Mon Dec 8, 2008 21:44 UTC Natalie, interesting transportation update. The 205 seems to be the best decision. *winkygrin* |
