My name is Sue and Iv'e lived in and around Scunthorpe all my life but I do enjoy travelling. It's great to check out other people and their travels on VT and their views on life in general.

My husband John and I will be celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary on 7th December 2004. We have a daughter Joanne 26 and a son Andrew who is 25.

Update June2005 -Joanne has bought a motorbike after passing her bike test. More grey hairs for me! Bought Joanne a leather motor bike suit for Xmas!

I like to chill out in the garden with my dog Kim, who is 14 years old now, or enjoy a family BBQ.

22/03/06 Kim update - Jan 06 dog very ill, vet found large growth had to operate quickly or she would certainly die. She had the operation and has made a good recovery. Kim died 29/05/2007.

MY DOG

Never, though I leave her several hours alone or more, does she fail to leap and meet me as my keys slip through the door. I always know my coming will be greeted with delight, and whatever I may do or say- these things to her are right. When people are offhand and life seems anxious to defy me, I count upon the sympathy of one who still stands by me. When failure comes too near and I can feel success retreat, I find her sitting trustfully beside me at my feet.
She hasn't any irritating words or petty speeches, no galling, tiresome leactures, no sound advice she preaches. But should I speak too sharply or with harsh commanding ways, there creeps into her eyes a wounded look as she obeys.
When I am feeling boisterous, she'll romp with me and play, and then again if I should come home tired and sad one day, there need be no explaning for she always understands. She rubs her head against me - then kisses both my hands.

John and I have done a fair bit of travelling and like to go somewhere new every year if we can.

My favourite country is Sri Lanka but I would love to visit New Zealand.

I've done a trip in a microlight in Turkey and really enjoyed it so my ambition now is to go up in a hot air balloon.

17/10/2006 Yippee! Just returned from a Nile cruise and did a hot air balloon flight. It was absolutely fabulous!

I,m a grandmother now! Joanne gave birth to a baby boy Finlay John 29 Nov 2008.

Son Andrew now works in Kuwait!
