This is a beautiful old courthouse sitting on a square and surrounded by a few law offices, real estate office, a few cafes, banks, and church. There is a confederate marker to the right.
My husband and I moved to this town in May of 2003, as a result of my husband's job. We love it so far, and it is conveniently located about 40 miles from Birmingham.
St. Clair County was created in 1818 by lands ceded from the Creek Indian Nation. Named for General Arthur St.Clair, a former governor of the Northwest Territory. Ashville named after John Ash in 1822, a prominent settler.
This is a beautiful Victorian style tea room and antique shop, decorated for the holidays. It's even prettier at night because it is well lit.

- Cons:would be even more beautiful with a few downtown restorations
