Old Luthern Church
Interior of Huashi Building
Huashi"Badaguan" gets it's name from the eight great passes of the Great Wall of China - there are eight roads each with a name of the Eight Great Passes. This area was laid out in 1931 and following this many fine homes were built, numbering in over 200 villas of European style. Wander it's tree lined streets and admire the architecture. If you can ignor the hords of megaphone drilled tour groups you will think you have been transported to upper middle class suburban Europe. The focal point of Badaguan is the castle like Huashi Building, originally the home of the German governor. It's now a museum.
