Fukuoka | Tradition wedding service |
Fukuoka, on Japan's southern island of Kyushu, is a little different to the cities one finds on niegbouring Honshu. Here there is a real sense of open space, some excellent beaches and a vibrant night life. It could be any decent modern American or Australian city of over 1 million inhabitants which is clean and safe, but not too sterile. Comming from Korea to Fukuoka one feels like stepping back into the real world. Simple every day modern world things which don't exist in conservative Korea are here - like a young women on bicycle with a face full of body piercing is more or less normality unnoticed in sophisticated Fukuoka. However none the less the tradition of Japan are not a world away. Japan has preserved the old while embraced the new indeed. One only has to travel inland for 45 min on the train to witness a traditional wedding ceremony taking place at the sacred Temman-gu at Dazaifu. |
