West Seattle is a nice suburb of Seattle. It's pretty quiet here, but its great if you like walks or going jogging or biking as there are quite a few parks here. Alki beach offers a miles long path for biking, or whatever and there are poles for beach volleyball. During the summer Alki is pretty popular, there are also some nice restaurants along the beach. Also in West Seattle is Lincoln park, with great trails and picnic areas. Fauntleroy ferry dock is directly south of Lincoln park. Taking the ferry accross Puget Sound is a must. I've seen a pod of Orca whales up close while on the ferry. The views are incredible, and you could turn it into a day trip over to Vashon Island or to the Kitsap Peninsula.
- Pros:Beautiful scenery and parks
- Cons:A little too quiet, especially outside of summer
