Beautiful Town surrounded by volcanos I came to Antigua to study Spanish. The town was mesmerizing. In the morning on my way to school I could see the volcanos hiding behind the clouds, before the sun rises up high. I did not have a chance to climb a volcano while in Antigua (too much studying!), but heard stories of students who went there when the volcanos were showing signs of activity! One of the students, as told by my host-mother, woke up in the middle of the night and ran to see the eruption...came back with molten shoes and a huge smile...like an accomplished man! |
| | Streets of Antigua I am so glad the town of Antigua decided to protect its historic center. Granted it looks a little unreal now if you compare it to any other place in Guatemala, but it is still nice to see how a colonial looked before, |
