One of the narrowest country you will visit!

Lome

With Michel and Pize
Togolaise people were absolutely amazing - very generious and hospitable. We stayed in a house of 4 brothers living together. Their parents lived in the North of the country, while these 4 young men went to school in the capital. The house was set up with a courtyard, where the brothers got together for meals. Two servants cooked meals and cleaned. For me that part was shocking as I grew up in the former Soviet Union. When I went to thank a servant for a nice meal and was mildly chided for being strange...
Market at night

Voodoo Market

For those visiting Lome, it is a must to see Le Grand Marche de Feticheur. It sells everything needed for a voodoo ceremony - moneky skulls, dried birds, teeth of weird animals, and such. I also decided to see a ceremony, so asked one seller to create good luck for me (while my girlfriend asked for a reciepe to get married). He sat me at his hut, waved some incense around me, mubmbled something for 15 min, gave me a pouch to wear around my neck, and asked for $100. Since I was there with my friends from Lome, they insisted that the service cost not more than $10. This is what I paid. Later that night I found that the rest of my $100 I had in my wallet was somehow missing and the next day I was sick all day with food poisoning. Needless to say I threw away my "good luck" necklace right there and then:)
