We really needed some sand, surf, & sun, and Padre was an easy choice. We got sand and surf, but the sun was a little hard to come by.
So-- we enjoyed the surf and the food. The seafood was spectacular (perhaps because seafood is not spectacular in Oklahoma).
- Pros:Always great seafood
- Cons:Too cool for swimming this time of year
- In a nutshell:Great place for short term dose of seaside life

Good food and good beer. We went on our Honeymoon and they gave us a nice dessert. We will be back.
We visited south padre on July 23 - 29, 2006 and ate at Blackbeards one night. Food was excellent. There were 7 of us and we all ordered different items. The Red Snapper was the best I had ever eaten. Service was great too. I would recommand.
Hi Ron, Nice tips on South Padre Island. I see that we missed a few places when we were there.
