The Glorious Food | Esther and My Scrumptious Meal |
I would honestly return to Barcelona for the food alone. The quality, quantity and cost was amazing. We found two buffets that were better than any other that I've ever been to and a meal that I had on the board walk was unforgetable.
The first buffet we found was a sushi buffet. It cost 8 Euro for all-you-can-eat sushi and a drink of your choice (go for the freshly squeezed OJ...I've never tasted better) Anyways the choice and quality of the sushi was so good. I tried types I never even heard of..The sushi rotated around the restaurant on a 'sushi train'....We would go for lunch and have that one meal for the whole day....believe me it filled you up. My favorite restaurant I've been to anywhere!
There was also a Chinese Buffet for 6.5 Euro that was also top-notch food. One of the days that we went in there (yes we went a couple times) they didn't have the buffet set up so we were able to order anything and everything off the menu. WOW it was good. Anything from sweet & sour pork to prawns. I plan to return to both of those restaurants when I go back to Barcelona.
The Restaurant that we went to on the main boardwalk near the beach was fairly fancy. Esther and I ordered a 30 Euro platter of seafood...YES IT WAS WORTH IT! It had like 30 prawns, octopus, salmon steaks, muscles, and many other types of fish.... the taste was divine. I'd recommend any of the boardwalk restaurants.
Finally, the Ice Cream.... There was an Ice Cream Parlor right along the same boardwalk as the Chinese buffet and the Fancy Restaurant and it had hundreds of flavors of ice cream. I tried chocolate peanut butter...yum. Amazing Ice Cream, a real must. (Especially since it was 'hot' there after being in England for 8 months)

| | The Shopping of my Life I have never spent so much money ANYWHERE or bought so many things. By the time I left I had bought a whole new wardrobe. I just couldn't help myself, everything was fair priced and quality. The style in Barcelona is much nicer than in England or Canada. It is unique and sophisticated. The streets have endless shopping places and in every store I looked I wanted to buy at least one item.
The jewelry there is unreal, unfortunately I have lost most of it along the way but I do have fond memories of what it was like.

Great Hostels Since I was traveling in a five-person group we really lucked out at every hostel. For the most part we were able to have our own room and bathroom. It couldn't get much better than that.
The three hostels we stayed at were interconnected. First we stayed at the Gothic Point Hostel which was inner city and rustic. Then we were lucky to stay at Sea Point Hostel which was right on the beach. (best hostel I've ever stayed in) Lastly we stayed at Ciutat Point which was in the outskirts but a lovely area. All of these Hostels had great points about them and are further described below. | | |
