My wife Olivia and I share ten acres with our Vizsla bird dog Frida and three Texas Longhorns, Biscuit, Zorro, and Storm. Any day now biscuit should have her calf. Storm was her last calf, she was born a year ago. I have had a strong interest in ways of the cowboy for as long as I can remember. The Vaqueros of Mexico are the most interesting, and I have been fascinated by their skill and knowledge. My favorite cattle are the Texas Longhorn, I love the colors, they are always different. My favorite Horse breed, is the Mustang and Quarter Horse.

We live 35 miles north of Atlanta in Cherokee County, near Ballground which was once a ceremonial ground for the Cherokee Indians. It is also the first place that Gold was found in north Georgia according to some accounts. I do know it was the location of the most profitable Gold mine, The Franklin Mine, owned by Mrs. Mary G. Franklin. Mrs. Franklin won the land in the land lottery held by the Government around 1831. The widow Franklin ran a successful operation until her death. The mine became known as the Creighton Mine around 1883. This is well documented in the records of W. S. Yeates, the state geologist of the time. The Georgia Gold Belt runs through Cherokee County.

Olivia and I love to visit friends to the North and hike the mountain trails that lead to the Appalachian trail. The falls at Amacalola, and Anna Ruby Falls are our favorite trails. There are trout fishing outfitters and guides as well as white water rafting. We are lucky to be no more than an hours drive from any of these locations and 30 minutes from Lake Sidney Lanier.

Our Travels away from Georgia take us to Mexico's Central Mountains, The tip of Baja, Tucson Arizona, Santa Fe New Mexico, and Florida's Pan Handle region of the Gulf.
