And the city I live in now...

How I found San Francisco

Golden Gate Bridge
Well, of course I knew of San Francisco when I lived back in Argentina - mostly about the Golden Gate, the earthquakes, the Castro and a couple things more... On the same training trip that first brought me to the US in 1993, I decided to take one last week in San Francisco. Without a map and without a car I walked the entire city up and down and fell in love with it, with how beautiful the sights were, with how laid back it felt.

The moment I saw people laying back in the sun in Alta Plaza (something that is very common back in Buenos Aires) I was sold: this was a place I could live in...
Coit Tower

When I came back

It would take me another 4 years to come back to the Bay Area, via a job that landed me in Santa Clara (about 45 miles south). The city was even more beautiful. It was a really exciting place to be through the last part of the 90s as the dot-com boom took off - and then it was a tough place to be when it came crashing down... At the end of 1997 I met my partner Keith and I moved with him to South San Francisco, a mere 10 minute drive to the city. I go in every other day at least and love it more and more...
