train station
Pakistan's railway network is a legacy of the British rule. The main line runs from Karachi to Lahore, Rawalpindi and Peshawar and has several daytime and overnight trains. However, there are no routes into the mountains. Travel in air-conditioned coaches is advisable, as even first class compartments can be hot and crowded. Travel concessions of up to 50 per cent are offered to children and students, and 25 per cent discount for group travel.

No traditional way of transport in Islamabad....
Islamabad is spacious, however, the transpotation is a necessity. The distances are too great for it to be much fun otherwise. In Islamabad there are no scooter rikshaws, tongas or any donkey rides(like in Lahore)-traditional Asian forms of transport. Options are Suzuki vans, Transit vans, taxis and hire cars...
