"Belgrade is wow!" Belgrade by polardabar

After all the fuss at Moscow airport, Belgrade seemed like such a relief... Flying after 12 hours on ground felt damn great, so Visnja & me got some sleep, some wine & stared out of the window...

We got to Belgrade at around 9 PM, checked for trains leaving for Zagreb & got an answer - 7 AM! Used to things like these, we just tried to ask around for some busses leaving for Belgrade Central. The problem was that we were completely out of money & there was no ATM to get some money. So we stop a police officer & tell him our life stories & he tells us it'd be wiser to stay at the airport till the morning since the Central's all open & it's sh*t cold. But he also tells us to find him if we're in trouble - he works at the airport...

We get along with the security guys at the airport [after all, eight hours is quite a lot of time], so they let us go beyond the border gates to get some money from the ATM! We have a couple of coffees, p*ss off the airport staff, sleep on our jackets, learn the scheme by heart & try to make the time pass by.

Just as it's dawning, this guy from the airport hooks us up with a guy who can drive us to the Central & the two of us, eternally grateful, get to the Central. With the money that's left of the ticket money, we buy tons of cigarettes, magazines, beers aso. & go a bit around the station...

Belgrade seems amazing & the people are supremely nice, but we just gotta run. There's a seven-hour-ride waiting for us, so we settle in a nice cozy compartment with a younger woman traveling to Kazakhstan & an older one who hitch-hiked the whole Europe & lived with a tribe in Africa!

Could've we gotten any more motivated? ;)
