"A 10 minute stay" Åland by polardabar

Åland Travel Guide: 103 reviews and 127 photos

My stay in Finland lasted for whole 10 minutes actually - excluding sailing in & out. :) I've took a 10 hour cruise to Mariehamn, the capital of Åland islands - the world's largest archipelago, located between Sweden & Finland. Åland is officially under Finland, but basically only Swedes live there. They have their own flag, their own autonomy & the official language is Swedish.

The main thing on the cruise was checking out the Stockholm Archipelago actually, but the feeling of being on a 10 deck boat with a lot of drunk Swedes is deffinitely funny! :) There's a Tax Free shop on the boat, so a lot of Swedes barely take the ride just to buy some alcohol for the party the following evening. Nevertheless, you can just stick around on the deck, enjoy the sun & the extraordinary nature!

The tickets with Viking Line cost less than 2 EUR, 'coz every summer (I guess) they have actions. So, take some time & enjoy this great ride! :)
