Public Transportation System

Göteborg has a really good public transportation system, consisting of buses & trams. If you're in the city for a couple of days, the easiest & the most affordable thing is to by a hundrakort, a trafic ticket with 100 SEK's worth credit on it, so whenever you take a mean of transportation, you put it into the machine & press number two [2 means adult]. If you're taking the bus & you wanna switch on to a tram, you don't have to validate it again - just put it into the machine & press 'byte' [means 'change']. On the back of the card you can see how much money there's left on it. Enjoy the ride!

Taking a bus - Göteborg
Taking a bus

Swebus Express has regular lines from Nils Ericson Terminal to Oslo, Malm?, Stockholm, K?benhavn aso. A one-way bus ticket to Oslo costs 185 SEK (<25) & it takes a bit less than four hours to get to Oslo Gallerian & a one-way ticket from Malm? Sv?vartermina costs 186 SEK (<25) & takes a bit more than four hours. Be sure to ask for a youth discount if you're under 25!

The Nils Ericson Terminal in G?teborg is connected to the Central Station & the Malm? Sv?vartermina station is maybe 200 m on the left when you get outside Central Station's Main Entrance.

I even got to take a photo of my plane! ;) - Göteborg

I even got to take a photo of my plane! ;)

Do you fly?

Göteborg Landvetter Airport is situated 25 km east of the city & the ride to Central Station / Nils Ericson Terminal costs 70 SEK / 7.5 EUR. If you're flying FlyMe, a one-way ticket from Stockholm Arlanda costs 295 SEK. They have all kinds of promotional flights all the time. SAS have student, youth & last-minute discounts & you can get tickets on machines at the airport. I got a one-way ticket from Göteborg to Stockholm for 300 SEK.

It is a really good airport, rather small but cozy... There are machines where you can check in or by a last-minute ticket, but there's also stuff that can help you out. There's a small café & an internet point where you can get online. You have to pay 20 SEK for an hour, but keep your little paper, because you can use the unspent credit on other computers as well [I spent the rest of mine on Stockholm Centralen]!

Göteborg City [GSE] is another airport where some companies like Ryanair fly to. There are flights to London Stansted,, Frankfurt Hahn & Glasgow Prestwick, but I haven't been there, so I can't give you much info, but here's a link.
