I just spent two weeks in Istria: first in Pula on a seminar in Scandinavistics & then researching inland. It has amazed as never before. I just love it! :) I've seen so many new places, small villages on top of hills, on the coast, in the woods... Motovun, Hum, Vrh, Kotle, Moscenice, Moscenicka Draga, Bale, Tinjan... I've got around 1400 photos, so I suppose it's gonna take a while to make something out of it. :)

Istria is one of the the most popular destinations for foreign (and domestic) visitors in Croatia. Umag, Porec, Rovinj, Motovun & many more cities continually top the annual poll of best holiday resorts in Croatia, as organized by the Croatian National Tourist Board & Croatian TV. Nonetheless, it is also one of the most expensive parts. Don't get deceived - sometimes it gets so expensive that even Croats can't afford to go to the sea side! Most visitors arrive by car, but you can fly in to Pula Airport. Istria is also easily reachable from Trieste or Venice-Treviso airports, where Ryanair fly to, or Venice Marco Polo airport, where Easyjet fly to.
