I transferred to Auburn after my Sophomore year of college and plan to be graduating in August of 2004 and moving to Tampa to start the Masters of Accountancy program at the University of South Florida(USF).
Auburn is the first small town I have ever lived in and I now must admit that I am a city boy. The city of Auburn lives on a schedule that consists of football season and non-football season. I am a football fan but there are 52 or 53 Saturdays in a year and only 7 or 8 home games. If you want to visit Auburn I would definitely recommend coming for a football game weekend. Auburn is a town of about 50,000 people but the football stadium can hold 86,000 and they are adding on to it. The city of Auburn seems to consist of the university and many retired people who have moved back to Auburn. I have enjoyed my stay in Auburn and yet I will enjoy moving back to the city of Tampa
- Pros:Small Town, Big Football, Good School
- Cons:Small Town, No Nightlife for non-drinkers
- In a nutshell:The football stadium holds more people than the town does, Go figure.
If you are in town the weekend of a football game, the team must win for you to experience this "local custom".... more travel advice
