Well, it was the first time for me to be in Asia, the first time to be in a sparkling skyscraper town, and first time to be in a real multicultural milieu. |
| | You spea Sing-Po Eng-Lish? I realised that the so called European multi-culti is nothing like this: why, minorities immigrants etc in West Europe and East Europe are most times the poorest people who have to cope with many problems including racism. Here: I could see nothing of that, though there are 3 main ethnicities here who are as different from each other as they just can be. Chinese, Malays and Tamils walk around, and make business :) Yeah we will see nothing like that in Europe...
The main language is English, I've seen many Chinese coming along talking in English with each other. Maybe one was Cantonese other Hakka, or I don't know... But Singapore English is a little bit hard to understand (just like mine), my favorite was the question "You wan bee too cha tee cha?" (=Do you want two or three jars of beer?, hehe i'm far not perfect as well:) |
Eat Because of its very-very-very multiculturality and placement, you can eat everythink you have ever imagined (or not) in Singapore. Indian, Chinese, Malay, Pacific, Japanese, etc etc restaurants are abundant, and the food is MUCH cheaper than even home, CE-Europe. This is true for everything when speaking about everyday life: taxis, other transport, souvenirs etc etc. | | | I can't live without pig's organs soup |
