I wish there was a choice to select boroughs in Alaska because they are so large and sometimes the towns are not big enough to warrant an entire page. This is especially true if you are a traveler and not a resident. There is information on the town of Kenai here but largely, it's about the peninsula as a whole. |
| | The Kenai Peninsula is part of a larger borough called Kenai Peninsula Borough which includes more than just the peninsula. Confusing? Yes. The actual part of the borough that is the peninsula is quite large but close enough to Anchorage that you can take day trips from here. For the towns farther south, I think taking a few days is a better idea. But it's connected through a well maintained road system with a huge variety of things to do. For me, a big bonus is that, at times, there's even more than one road you can take! Yay! For those who don't have a car there are tour groups that explore this area. The other part of the borough is adjacent to the peninsula and much less accessible from Anchorage. |
