Hello, everyone,
I started to travel just one year ago when I came to the UK for my postgraduate study and it would be a great chance for me to approach the whole Europe where I have been stuck on the culture and art! Indeed, I am just a beginner since it is not common for an Asian girl travelling alone, and I was so grateful that I met some people who gave me lots of useful advice about travelling and I really enjoy it. Nowadays, I spend my vacation travelling around the Europe. It would be a pity that I could not have a long trip due to my study. No matter how tough my study is, travelling always gives me the encouragement and strength to go on.
Well, although I set the UK as the place I live, I come form the small-Asia-Island —Taiwan where is a very passionate and splendid country with fabulous food and unique culture!

Kiruna, Sweden

These are the place I have visited:

1984 Winter : Japan: Had a winter vacation with my family. However, I was too young to remember anything but Disney and the snow.
1997 Summer : the US: visiting my brother–in-law who was studying in the US then. Surfed the wonderful Disneyland and Sea world, and explored Jazz world in New Orleans, and Armish community. And went north to Chicago with a trip in Six Flags where I had a exciting experience.
2002 Autumn : England and Scoland: just arrived the UK and could not wait to get closer to this place.
2002 Autumn : Germany: Visiting some small towns in the south and enjoying the lovely dark beer and “pork-leg”!
2002 Winter : short break in Amsterdam and Brussels before Christmas due to my unfinished paper and that is the nearest city for me to approach…. Such an experience to walk along side the freezing canal…
2003 Spring : having a cool week in Madrid and Barcelona where I was so charmed by the art and architecture there, of course, and the lovely cuisine such as paella, tapa, and sherry!!
2003 Summer : in the terribly-hot June, I spent a week in southern Italy and visited Rome, Naples, Pompeii, Sorrento, and unforgettable cliff view in Capri and Amalfi. And this is the most important trip for me since I met Peter, who has been travelling for years, and he gave me so much advice and gave me the strength to keep on travelling.
2003 Autumn : returning to the UK and had a few days in Venice and Florence with a friend from Taiwan. The northern Italy is quite distinguished in many aspects compared with the southern Italy.
2003 Autumn : Again, escaped from my stressed study and travelled to Belgium for the lovely beer and chocolate! Had a wonderful stay in Brussels and Brugge although the weather was not so friendly…...
2003 Winter : in spite of my friends' discouragement, I still insisted having a trip in Scandinavian Europe! I travelled from Helsinki to Rovaniemi to visit the Arctic Circle and Santa Claus. Taking buses and train, I arrived Lulea and Kiruna in Sweden where was so freezing. Returning to Stockholm, I had a night on Viking Line to Helsinki to finish my winter break in snow....
2004 Summer :
Studying in the Uk has given me chances to explore this knigdom. I stole a few days down to Plymouth to enjoy some sunshine. And took a look at the spectacular stonehedge.
2004 Autumn : Going up to Scotland with friends. Had an adventure from Wallace Monument, Glencoe, Ben Nevis, Eilean Donnar Castle, Skye, Loch Ness, and Culloden Battlefield. That was a stunning experience for me, the views are so amazing! However, need to have some more exercise before going backpacking again...
2005 Spring :
Finally! I have stolen a few days out for travelling! This time I visit Czech Republic which has been strongly recommended by my friends. Besides teh capital Prague, I also visit Český Krumlov, Karlovy Vary, Mariánské Lázně and Kutná Hora. During the days, i have experenced the amazing art performances, explored the beautiful countryside and also enjoyed the SPA. Of course, the wonderful medieval feast is the best dish i've ever had.

Actually, i did not have chance to do any backpacking due to the stressed study. Hopefully, i could explore somewhere interesting the coming year and that will be my new year wish!!
