| Chichen Itza - Group of the Thousand Column |
Chichen Itza is one of the most spectacular and well-preserved Mayan archaeological sites. It is estimated that the first buildings appeared around 600 A.D. For the next two centuries, the Mayan ruling class developed a highly advanced knowledge base. The society collapsed around 800 - 925 A.D. With the influence of the Toltecs, Chichen Itza was revived around 975 A.D. and remained a significant city until 1200 A.D.
The entire area is a must do, must see, so this page will consist only of travelogues with photos. |
