When we travel with our teenage son and daughter, we like to rent homes because the total cost often ends up being less expensive than two hotel rooms. The kids have space to hang out and we can all relax together in the evening, watching movies, eating ice cream or playing games.
Unique Qualities: We rented a 3 bedroom home from The Management Group. Like most homes, it was built in the typical Santa Fe adobe style. The home was beautifully decorated in Southwestern style. It had every comfort of home and then some. The location was also perfect. We were only about 5 blocks away from downtown Santa Fe and about 3 blocks away from Canyon Road. When I am on vacation, I'll usually chart out a favorite running route. From this house on Hillside Avenue, each morning I would run out to Canyon Road, along the river, up Copper Canyon Road, past the college and up a residential road on the side of the mountain for an incredible view of Santa Fe. The company that managed the rental of this home, The Management Group, was very professional. They carry a very good inventory of vacation rentals. I will definitely use them again.

This photo shows the living room of the house we rented in Santa Fe. Since we had our two teenagers in tow, renting a house was perfect for this vacation. We were within walking distance of downtown Santa Fe, but our teenagers didn't always want to head downtown every time we wanted to. Having a house made it possible for them to just hang out at the house, read, watch TV, do the things teenagers prefer to do, as opposed to tag along with their parents on another sightseeing excusion. This home is available through The Management Group (property #377).
Unique Qualities: The house was modern but built in typical Santa Fe style. In both the living room and the family room upstairs were Santa Fe style kiva fireplaces. The kiva fireplace is immensely popular in Santa Fe and is modeled after the kiva fireplaces built in the native pueblos. The house had everything we could ever need for our stay - a well-equipped kitchen with a large supply of dishes, cooking equipment and glasses. I was particularly impressed by the extensive collection of Cutco knives. There were 2 plasma TVs, a stereo, 3 bedrooms, lots of pillows and even wireless high speed internet access.

This hotel certainly has its charm. The grounds are gorgeous and the hotel was built in pueblo style. The lowest priced rooms are extremely small. The first time we stayed there, I think we got the smallest room in the hotel. In fact, it is possible they converted a broom closet at the last minute to accommodate us. The mid-priced rooms are quite a bit roomier. Centrally located. You can walk everywhere you need to go in the main Santa Fe area.
