Catholic churches are everywhere in Rome, of course, but we thought the Chiesa del Sacro Cuore de Suffragio (Church of the Sacred Heart) was particularly unique. In a city of domes, this gothic style church was a standout. (Which one is not like the others?) It is located on the left bank of the river and was about 2 minutes from our hotel. On Sunday, we noticed it was open, so we went inside to take a gander. We walked into the middle of a mass. All the church goers turned their heads and looked at us. I hate it when that happens...
