Being from Victoria, Vancouver is pretty much the place you have got to go to get anywhere else. It's also where you have got to go to see any major shows or concerts.
I find the city of vancouver, itself, to be fairly boring but it is close to so many amazing places that it makes up for a lack of real interesting aspects of it's own.
Vancouver is near to Whilstler (if you like snow) and to the ocean. You can actually go skiing, mountain biking and swimming all in the same day.

Pros and Cons

Pros:Close to all amazing outdoor activities.
Cons:Not much to do after dark in the city.
In a nutshell:It's big and on the coast.
