Cheeky Chicken: Ain't nothing cheeky about it

Late night hangout for local delinquents and late night club casualties. Food is absolute gash - chicken shouldn't be grey and chewy even at 3 in the morning.

Favorite Dish: Overpriced can of coke

Address: Preston Street

Comparison: about average

Directions: On a street full of infinately better resteraunts.

Price: less than US$10

Rating: 1

Nandos: Perri - Perri or Pirri Pirri

I don't know what the difference between Pirri and Perri sauces is , probably a trademark dispute , but Nandos does various types of chicken . I had medium spicy and it almost blew a hole in me. You order at the cash desk then sit down with a bottle of Sangre beer and wait. Friendly Spanish waitresses and decent food for what is essentially a fast food joint.

Favorite Dish: Chicken Burger and Coleslaw

Address: 34 Duke Street

Comparison: more expensive than average

Directions: Near Chruchill Square

Price: US$11-20

Portland Cafe: Portland Cafe

Greasy spoon , notable for the saltiest bacon i've ever eaten ,and being closed on Sundays , which defies the point of have a cafe in the first place.

Favorite Dish: Pour some salt on a snail and you'll have some idea what the bacon does to your tongue, decent cup of tea though.

The Little Buddha: Thai bring your own booze

This place is a decent cheap Thai resteraunt ,made much better by the fact that it's unlicensed so you bring your own booze ( without getting stung by a charge for corkage ). Therefore the boring wait between courses is can be avoided by pouring outragoesly huge vodkas.
Is always packed and has a party atmosphere as the people queuing for a table often crack into their carry out to pass the time.

Favorite Dish: Crispy Chili Beef

Address: Dyke Road

Comparison: less expensive than average

Directions: Just off Seven Dials

Price: US$11-20

Rating: 5

Theme: Pan-Asian and Pacific Rim

Tequila! - Brighton
A Dig in the Ribs: Tequila!

A cheesy tex-mex effort that 's saved by the sheer amount of Tequila they let you consume while your eating. Resteraunts don't always allow much mis-behavior but in this place they just don't care.
The mexican foods not bad either.

Favorite Dish: Shots of tequila and mexcal between courses.

Price: US$21-30

Rating: 4

Greedy - Brighton

Greedy

Buddies: Buddies - tea and toast at 4 in the morning

24 hour cafe on the sea front road that is an absolute life saver. You can roll out of a club at 4 in the morning and get a fry up before struggling home. Anywhere that sells you tea this early is well worth a visit.

Favorite Dish: Fry Up -and tea

Address: Kings Road

Comparison: about average

Price: US$11-20

Rating: 5

Theme: Autogrill/Rest Stop
