"Turku - City of lost memories and lost... " a Turku Travel Page by biggeorge

I have to confess i know next to nothing about Turku , apart from that it used to be the capital and is in a mixed Finnish/Swedish speaking area . We drove the Silver Whore in from Helsinki to meet some friends for Vappu and got drawn into a whole world of Finnish hospitality and ended up staying there four days.

Day 1 - Drink own bodyweight in various ( 10 ) types of alcohol, go to 3 parties , eat nothing apart from a sausage and some crisps , laugh at Dave stacking into a fold up chair and a bench, fall asleep with eyes open.
Day 2 - Eat an apple- throw it up again , go for a picnic on the mountain , drink lots of wine , go to a boat drink lots of beer, go to a pub drink more beer , go clubbing , fall over , talk bollocks all bloody evening.
Day 3 - Have sauna and dinner , top up fluid levels with red wine , fail to learn how to play the guitar or the piano , throw up again.
Day 4 - Get up at 4 , vow to give up drinking , have 2 non-alcoholic drinks then launch into the beers in Finlands worst nightclub , end up drinking Absinthe with a 16 year old and have a kebab.
Day 5 - Drive back to Helsinki

So cheers Turku and everyone in it , my liver hurts when I even think about alcohol and I can now only breathe out of one nostril , though i'll definately come back next year.
