Beautiful Old Town set on the Canal de la Robine | The Hôtel-de-Ville as seen from the Canal |
Though Narbonne is a fairly large city, once you get into the center, which is the old Medieval section, it is quite pretty and inviting. Narbonne originally was a Roman settlement, and very successful port town that rivaled Marseille. The waters have since receded, making Narbonne an inland city for the past several centuries. |
| | The Cathédrale St-Just-et-St-Pasteur The Cathédrale St-Just-et-St-Pasteur and it's cloister are both really lovely and should not be missed. Both are beautiful examples of Medeival Gothic architecture. |
| | The tranquil Canal de la Robine Peaceful and pretty canal that runs right through town. If you walk along the canal, you will come across interesting water locks that are still used today. |

| Pros: | "Pretty city, with some great architecture and nice cafes!" | | Cons: | "Parking can be a hassle unless you park near the canal!" | | In A Nutshell: | "Worth the visit, great city!" |
