Getting TO/AROUND: Two things about the metro,
    Firstly:
You can buy wonderful posters down in the metro from foriegn vendors. They are trying to eak out a living, and they sell their goods for cheap. I always gave them a little extra because I thought it was too cheap.

    Secondly:
For me being trapped underground with unfriendly Parisians was horrible. The energy on the metro is brutal. My tip, try to take the busses above ground whenever you can, you see more of the city and you have a pleasent place to rest your eyes rather than the sour traveler sitting across from you.

I agree with you. Paris is fine, but I'm not sure if it's worth all the fuss.. Great tips!

Great honest page about Paris! I really enjoyed reading it, getting a more balanced view about this city. I will certainly try out those peanuts, they sound yummie! And having lunch at Square du Vert Galant sounds like a wonderful idea! Thanks :-))
