...and I'm not telling you, because I want it to be empty next time I go there, not full of VT-ers!

For 1250 roubles (approx £25) we got a 'lux' room for two with TV, fridge, sperate 'living room' and bedroom and... wait for it... a huge bathroom... with a jaccuzi...

Breakfast not included, I'll admit, but it was well worth the money just for the jaccuzi alone.

In some ways, Novgorod reminded me of a Finnish town- everything closed pretty early, only the beer tents stayed open late.

Speaking of beer- about half the price of that in St. Petersburg. Kebabs- less than a third... but eat them at your own risk. They weren't very tasty (on Sennaya Ploschad at least) I found a bit of glass in mine, and my girlfriend came down with severe stomach ache the day after getting home.

In fact this was the only negative impression from an otherwise perfect trip.

I could say a lot more about the place, but probably no more than has already been said. There are one or two things we found that probably not many people know about, but if I told you, that would take away the enjoyment of finding them for yourself.
